In the past the caret in text entry fields used to blink/pulsate/flash forever in both Firefox and Thunderbird. (Text entry boxes, such as the browser URL-bar, the e-mail To/Subject/Content textboxes, online forms, etc.). Now in the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox 110.0.1 and Thunderbird 102.8.0 the caret stops blinking after just a few seconds. This is very confusing and frustrating for my grandmother and she already called me several times because Firefox and Thunderbird 'stopped working'. I explained to her that this is a new feature but she does not understand and keeps forgetting it after a few days. She is used to the cared blinking continuously, it has been blinking for the past decades whenever she wanted to type something in the computer and it only stopped blinking when the computer program froze or crashed.

I am sure that my grandma is not the only person having issues with the caret not flashing, I for one also would like to have a caret that blinks forever, so when I look away from the screen and look back I do not have to search the text to find where I left my caret.

Please make it so that the default caret appearance and behavior is the same as in all other programs (i.e. blinking forever), as it used to be in the past, just like what everyone is used to. I argue that the majority of users is used to and also expects a blinking caret when they are writing an e-mail or search online and you are confusing a whole lot of people with this minor change, people who do not know how to report bugs or seek help themselves. It's a sign of poor user-friendliness if grandmas need to call their grandchildren or children for help just to write e-mails which they used to be able to do on their own for many years in the past.

I hereby suggest adding an accessibility option for people who wish to disable the blinking cursor and to change the default behavior back to 'caret flashing forever'.

i installed a new windows and install new firefox but when i signed in, nothing loaded for me. non of my book marks or passwords please help me to recover it on my email. thank you

I have used Firefox for years, and google as my search engine.

I want to customize the google waffle in my firefox browser, but cant.

I can customize it in Chrome, but do not want to use Chrome or Bing.

I have searched, cannot find the answer on how to customize the Google Waffle

I tried to optimize settings for these aging eyes, and now I have messed up the pages such that I can't read some lines. I am not a computer person, and some terminology I don't understand. Specifically, how do I set the colors, etc. so that I can read the items? Is there a default button to set everything back to normal? Thank you, [email removed from public]

The default storage folder (alone) in my Firefox portable install is 1.29 GB and still growing. I know this is where website store data, and addons sometimes use this folder as well.

The folder grows so fast it is rendering my Firefox install almost unusable every three or four months. Is there any way to limit the size of this folder?

Regarding addons in that folder, most are very small (kilobytes range), but one rogue addon is 370 MB in size and still growing. It's folder in default>storage is "moz-extension+++d215ed11-a9b2-4927-bd1f-9755184bbe53"

How can I find out which addon this folder belongs to so I can remove the addon (or try and limit how much storage space it uses)?

Installed Ffx on my Win 10. Works Great. Installed on Win 11. Cannot find Norton Safe Search as an extension or as a search engine.

I clicked on a link in Win 11 and almost got into a malicious site. Would not have done so with Norton SS because it shows colored bubbles by each link. Would have seen a red bubble.

How can I get it to work in Ffx?

Trying to upload a video to my existing YouTube channel....have PowerDirector 18 by Cyberlink...when I try to sign in to get Authorization Coe and upload...getting message:

I installed Firefox on Windows 10, and when Firefox is running, the taskbar is blank with no icons. I just installed Firefox, logged into my Firefox account, and did nothing else.

I have recently got a 17" laptop and I notice, when I am on websites that have an additional scroll bar to the right of the page, it gets lost behind the firefox scroll bar. is there a setting I can change to resolve this?

i'd like to make the top of firefox dark mode instead because the other half is dark mode the other isn't and the dark mode on the main screen when i open a new tab or firefox is super bright please help

I have a new Dell laptop and the menu bar disappeared, it was there before. I've searched how to restore, nothing works, all the search replies are several years old. I'm also running my old 2013 laptop Dell off the same router, both ethernet connected to the router . the old laptop has its menu bar. Thanks for your help, Jonnie

Firefox general appearance website zoom level has never saved 80% level when closing. Keeps changing back to 100%. Using latest updates with Windows 11 Pro 64 & Firefox Version 110.0.1 (64-bit)

After the last few updates on Firefox, I can no longer access meetup.com. When trying to access that site, I get a "Bad Request" message. As a side note, I have no trouble accessing that site if I use my Safari browser.

Also note that the OS that was "guessed" (10.15) was incorrect--it is MAC OS 13.2.1

FOLLOWUP: Success! It turned out to be an extension called "Enhancer for YouTube". I added that because my add-ons had been wiped out by the update yesterday and forgot that it was a new one I'd never tried before.

Does anyone on here understand this stupid video "follow us and block the page for stupid reasons" thing? How can software designers be so brain dead and out of touch with the rest of the planet? I do wonder sometimes.

I am using Mac OS x 10.15. The FireFox Update on/about 21 April 2021 caused crash on quit. I have read the two pages of Widevine plugin issues, but I do not use FireFox for viewing videos. I have no Widevine or similar plugin. Every time since the 4/21 update, when I click "Quit FireFox" It goes into a slow routine, then a pop-up asks if I want to report the crash. I have shared the data requested when I get the crash pop-up. I have used FireFox since v.3.? when it came out way back when. Obviously I liked it better when I did not have delay and crash to quit the browser.

This went on for about two years and was fixed about a week ago (Thank you!!!), now broken again with 110.0.1.

Please, any reason not to roll back to the previous version and have a smooth shutdown again?

My firefox updated this morning. I'm missing bookmarks and the ones I do have don't work. They all have a weird icon next to the bookmark and when I click on it it either goes to gmail or Total AV virus protection (which I deleted). How do I get the bookmarks to work and how do I get my old bookmarks back? This is so frustrating!! See screen shot

There used to be a way that we could change a setting to make Firefox prompt whether a user wanted to save on exit. This was extremely useful as I had the choice each time. Sometimes I want to automatically resume my last session, but most of the time I don't. I don't think it should be necessary to have to select 'Restore previous session' as sometimes when I start Firefox I don't remember and I've lost important websites that I haven't bookmarked.

Is there a way to do this in the current version of Firefox? I miss it.

Have never had an issue before with Barclays Online Banking using Firefox ... now unable to download transaction files or do other basic tasks. Have cleared cache, cookies etc but still same issues. Everything works fine with another browser (Chrome)
