I already have "Automatically install updates" and "When Firefox is not running" enabled.

But after each Firefox update I still get the "Do you want to allow this app to make changes..." prompt and "Firefox is installing your updates and will start in a few moments" window. These are inconvenient as they require user input and take up time.

I don't get these on all other browsers I use (including Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave), which all update in the background seamlessly.

Is there a way to prevent these in Firefox and just have Firefox update seamlessly in the background like other browsers?

Every website I try to visit with Firefox produces a page which reads "Suspected Phishing." And when I click on "Ignore and proceed" I am taken to a blank webpage. Each web address in the URL field reads "SmartDirect.de." Firefox has thus, for me, become a useless browser.

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem with Firefox? In answering my question please bear in mind I do not have a PhD from MIT and am not an expert in computer science.

Since the latest update to my Firefox, videos (for example, in documents such as surveys) either do not load or they freeze. And in some streaming applications, either they play with no sound or when sound is turned on the video freezes. This was never a problem until recently. iMac desktop (2017) Ventura 13.7.4 Firefox 136.0.2 (64 bit) The same issue does not occur on Safari or on my iPad (using Firefox). Any advice?? Thanks.

Since the last update (136.0.4 (64bit)) firefox only partially shows an embedded google spreadsheet. It was fine in the previous version. Tried turning off enhanced tracking protection, but that didn't do anything.

when I visit https://stock3.com/ (this site is in German), than I get on the right side under "Märkte" the wrong time. The time ist two hours in the past. How can I correct this?

Just thought I'd raise this issue as I can't find anything about it. For almost two weeks, every Fandom site I've visited looks different from normal. There's no sidebar, which is one less annoyance factor from Fandom, but other things I've noticed that aren't usable are expandable sections and some categorizing features. Specifically, the Yu-Gi-Oh! Fandom had expandable boxes with some card details and these are now white space, and the Duel Masters Fandom had a list of categories each card belonged to near the top of each entry, which seems to be missing. It seems like a Firefox-specific thing because I checked a couple of sites with Chrome and they looked normal, but I wouldn't want to view them regularly with Chrome because it discourages adblockers and Fandom's ads are dire. I haven't tried any other browsers. Once I started checking what version of Firefox I had during this time I've seen that the problem exists on 136.0.3 and 136.0.4. Thanks.

When i start the FireFox, this happens: windows of authorization appears. Im logged in to my FireFox (Mozilla Account), but on all my devices (exclude Mobile) -- PC, and laptop, with the same version it is return. This has been an issue throughout my entire experience with the product (several years), regardless of reinstallations and updates. While I understand that this is a feature that helps with synchronization, I find it to be too intrusive and would prefer if it could be set to occur automatically. The password requirement was only necessary when it was required for automatic filling purposes.

When I log into my modem it sends me a banner notification my "version of Mozilla Firefox is unsupported. Your gateway's web interface has been tested to work with a minimum version of 63.0.3. You may proceed with an unsupported version." However, when I am in my browser, and select Help--> About Firefox--> it shows I am on version 136.0.4 and up to date. When I access my modem, why does my modem say my browser is out of date when it isn't? Does my modem have a different browser version from my computer, and if so, how do I update that? I have a Windows 11 PC with Creative Sound Blaster Z sound card. The sound card and Windows settings are configured for 5.1 speakers and both test OK for sending sound to all 5.1 speakers correctly. Additionally, I can go to https://www2.iis.fraunhofer.de/AAC/multichannel.html using Chrome or Edge browsers and all the tests play correctly to all of my 5.1 speakers. However when I go to this same site (or any other with 5.1 audio) using Firefox browser, the 5.1 audio only plays in stereo (no audio to center or rear speakers - everything is down-mixed to the front L/R speakers only). I've double-checked that the Mozilla channel in Windows Volume Mixer is configured correctly (for output to the Creative Sound Blaster Z device), and none of the output audio enhancement modes are enabled in the Sound Blaster control panel. Firefox is version 136.0.4. Bottom Line: only Firefox seems to be having trouble playing 5.1 audio correctly. Any ideas what might be wrong or any settings adjustments to try?

As you can see from the image, the bookmark sidebar width can be expanded, but the width of the text portion does not grow with it. My longer bookmark names get truncated. Is there a setting to deal with this? If so, how do I access it?

I have profiles on desktop , i had enabled sync in all profiles when the feature was first introduced. the account icon always showed that it is syncing , but in the sync tab , no visited tab list appears of any profile in both the desktop .,, i installed firefox on the android today to check synchronization but its tabs never show in desktop profile and the android tells last synchronization never....neither the desktop tabs appear in android history

The Firefox menu (at the top above the browser window: File, Edit, View, etc.) disappears when I use a Hot Corner on macOS to Mission Control. See attached screenshot, I blacked out (with green) the open tabs.

If I go to Mission Control again, the FF menu then reappears.

FF is the only application to which this happens. And it seems to have started one or two FF updates ago. (Within the past 2/3 weeks).

macOS 15.3.2 FF 136.0.4 (aarch64).

Any thoughts as to how/ why this is happening and how to prevent it? It is not affecting performance but is a little annoying. This happens on a MacBook Pro M3, MacBook Air M4, and a MacStudio M1.

I'm looking in Web Developer Tools> Inspector> Layout Pane> Computed View at a specific CSS property. Expanding the property shows all the rules that tried to set the property, I suppose in decreasing order of CSS priority. Why do some of those rules have a strikethrough, and others not?

I know that a strikethrough often indicates that a rule has been superseded. But in this case, all of the rules (except for the topmost one) have been superseded. And yet, only some of those overridden rules have a strikethrough, and sometimes none of them do. So what does the strikethrough indicate?

Youtube isnt getting the video when using a non-private window. I've tried turning off every adblock I have. I removed some extensions that werent active in private windows to see if that was the problem. I tried closing and re-opening firefox. I restarted my computer. I logged out and back into google and then back out. Then i opened inspect element and the console and ... i have no idea what im looking at here but it says theres an error on the non-private window that *isnt* there on the private window, and it doesnt even show the playback element in the console as far as i know? i genuinely have no idea how to fix this or what is even broken, please help.
