Since I upgraded from FF128-esr to FF140-esr I always get the "Firefox is being updated by another instance" This is really driving me crazy, as I checked / did / .... everything (and even more) I found on the internet related to that.

Nothing helps !

Creating and using a new default profile didn't help

Finally I ended up uninstalling FF completely (making sure no -zero- leftovers remained in ProgramFiles, AppData a.s.o.), and reinstalled FF140.7.0-esr freshly. After installation I started FF immediately with the created default profile (only existing one) --> SAME THING : "Firefox is being updated by another instance"

And this is really a FF140 thing, when I go back to FF128, on the same computer, same profiles, ...., the problem is gone.

I would like to know in detail what checks are really done by FF to decide to give that "Firefox is being updated by another instance"

火狐浏览器更新后会自动清除C盘用户下的所有文件，安全软件阻止都阻止不了，下面是记录，已经被清除2次了，对火狐已经不爱了。

I am getting the message "updates are disabled by the admin." I am the only one here so I don't know how that happened. I need to install Slack but need to update first. I followed the steps to edit registry but still can't update. Please advise.

How do I update Firefox on my rand McNally tablet When I factory reset it ,it went back to the original version and I can't get it to update to the version I had beforehand

So I guess my Firefox update to ver. 147 from 146 by its auto update feature, but I realized all the past personal data (ie, history, cookies, passwords, profile, etc) was gone.

I have Mozilla Account (I think it's the same as Firefox Account back in the old days), so my personal data is now retrieved from some device as far as possible, but I lost local personal settings like Shortcuts on the main page on my laptop,p which is the main device to do everything.

I can't help what happened to me, and I will rebuild what I used to be on that day, but I am curious if it's just me, or there is some logic to cause this data loss.

cannot update browser. Currently using Linex Mint, #139, but latest is 150. As stated above, when I try to update, says browser update disabled by organization. Do not understand, I never authorized disabling browser updating.

I have deployment firefox 148.0.2 version from SCCM, its on autoupdate. So, when it is pushing to machine and during launch its giving prompt " You have launched olderversion of firefox ". even though i have cleared old version or any other version and then pushed still giving same prompt. We need to remove this prompt from appearing to users. kindly suggest how to fix

В России блокируют Firefox, по этому авто обновления не устанавливаются, я бы хотел получить ip и url серверов от куда скачиваются обновления. Это поможет обойти блокировку и восстановить работу firefox в России

The Firefox update I was prompted to initiate on May 12 resulted in a compatibility issue message. Following Firebox Help recommendations, I re-installed my Firefox. Now I see that my downloads folder has a long string of unfamiliar files, and I need assurance that these are not remnants of malicious activity. All files have names like i-33639-002-XX.jpg and are dated the same time (5/12/2026, 4:07 PM). Each file shows as “0 KB” in size. All are listed as “JPG File”. Has this happened to other Firefox users?
