I run normal firefox on linux. Fully up-to-date. Every time I quit the app, it reverts to a version of my profile from a month ago, and loads all the tabs I had open then, and then receives all the tabs that I sent to the device in the interim (~1 month). As I speak, it just caught the 60 or 70 tabs in this window.

I tried changing the name of my profile folder to randomstring.defaultOLD and changed one of the backups to randomstring.default. This didn't change the behavior. I'm still stuck in the loop. I saved my tabs with onetab, because firefox isn't remembering my session anymore. I thought it was something to do with updates, like it only loses its mind upon updates, but that's not true. It thinks it's updating firefox EVERY TIME, because the one time it's loading to 1 month ago it was updating, but I'm 100% sure there are no updates to firefox in my linux. It's just hallucinating.

The articles on restoring from backup are outdated. They say to use an html file. There is no html file. It's just folders for profiles, not html files. HELP!

when i use Chrome or edge to access yahoo email I can write & edit. when using Firefox browser; I cannot write & edit/highlight/change text colours etc before sending. tried deleteing & re-installing Firefox . please help. Driving me crazy rsvp

For the built-in VPN, I'm able to add websites to exclude either manually in the settings (Built-in VPN > Manage website settings) or from the webpage itself using the VPN icon. However, even when I save, if I close and re-open Firefox, the list is cleared and I have to re-add everything.

Is this normal or is there some other setting I'm missing?

I cannot open any files on my Google Drive from one email account. I've tried opening troubleshoot mode, signing out of all accounts, clearing cache... but nothing works. I don't really know what's causing the issue because my Google Drive works fine on Safari. I'm lowkey getting really annoyed because my drive hasn't been able to work for a week... This issue occurs for both windows and mac OS.

After a recent Firefox update, all of my saved passwords disappeared.

I checked my Firefox profiles and found that the current `logins.json` and `logins-backup.json` files were newly created on August 30, 2026 and contain no passwords.

However, in the older profile data I still have:

• `logins.db` — approximately 480 KB, modified August 19, 2026
• `key4.db` — approximately 288 KB, modified August 18, 2026
• `signedInUser.json`
• `storage-sync-v2.sqlite`

I opened a COPY of `logins.db` using DB Browser for SQLite. It contains:

• 392 records in `loginsM`
• 5 records in `loginsL`

The records clearly contain my saved websites in the `origin` field.

The table columns are:

`_rowid_` `id` `origin` `httpRealm` `formActionOrigin` `usernameField` `passwordField` `timesUsed` `timeCreated` `timeLastUsed` `timePasswordChanged` `secFields` `guid`

The `secFields` values begin with:

`eyJhbGciOiJkaXIiLCJlbmMiOiJBMjU2R0NNIn0`

Unfortunately, after discovering that my passwords were missing, I also reset my Mozilla account password. I understand that this may have affected the server-side Sync data.

My main question is:

Since the 392 encrypted login records are still physically present in the local `logins.db`, is there a supported or technically safe way to recover/decrypt those records and restore them to Firefox?

I still have the older `key4.db` and have preserved copies of all of these files without modifying the originals.

I am currently also attempting Windows File Recovery to look for an older deleted `logins.json`, but I would especially appreciate guidance on whether the surviving `logins.db` can be used for recovery.

I'm sorry I thought I sent my message all right so my messages I was I was wondering if there's any way I could copy all my bookmarks and websites from Yandex browser I've got a bunch of them and I thought that you and it was really really good for the kind of stuff that I wanted to watch and look at and find and create but you're oh my God your brows are so much cooler so much better I was wondering cuz like you know when I switch to a new device as long as you turn on certain setting in your app when the one that you got currently it'll be there no matter what device you open the app in the future it's All saints but I wanted to see if I can move it to your browser instead of using the Andy's browser at all!

the login never completes and there are messages at the bottom of the screen that it is waiting for various sites like ips.navigatorixa mail.com if I wait Firefox eventually times out with site not responding

If I'm using the built in VPN no pages will load, regardless of the location I pick. I did not have this issue previously, I've only first saw it the other day. No websites seem to work and as long as I have the VPN turned off everything works fine.

I use the dual English/German spell checker, a while back it stopped recognizing teh and ahve for example as the and have, only when turning off the German spell check it works again.

Is there any way to make one language take priority over the other (without having to turn languages off and on constantly?) or to get more suggested results?

I'm trying to remove the "recommended stories" section of the new tab page. Using the pencil button, I can toggle off the "recommended stories" button. But it doesn't stay off! After toggling off, if I open a new tab or even relaunch Firefox, the toggle is back on.

Several times I've seen Firefox bookmarks becoming lost, disorganized, or duplicated. The missing ones have typically been folders of bookmarks. The duplications have been typically of folders. The disorganizations have been folders ending up in a different position in the list, often at or near the bottom when that's not where I put them. What causes this, and can it be prevented?

One instance does not have bookmarks and passwords. The machine keeps switching between instances for Default. Machine is Ideapad 1i Windows, 11 64bit. Both Versions of of Firefox Appear to be 155.0.

Firefox just automatically updated on my (old) Mac (to version 155) and the VPN has stopped working. I am no longer able to select France as a location which I have been able to do for weeks until now... What's going on?! How is this an improvement?
