O, woe, I feel like Jacob Marley wailing in torment, ha! My correctly-set selection of "Always ask you where to save files" still does not function in 146.0 on Windows 10 after I have gone through every permutation of settings, updates, restarts, etc., I can think of. Why does it always every time only automatically download to the download "Save files to" location (which one MUST set with no option to not set a download location). I have even selected "Ask whether to open or save files" on the "What should Firefox do with other files?" section. I want to be asked each time where to download just like Firefox used to allow and still falsely promises. Am I doing something wrong, or is it a vast Left Wing conspiracy with which Firefox is colluding to oppress people who want choice over their lives like me? :-)

Whether the file is opened internally or directly downloaded to the desktop, the file name will be automatically changed to garbled text。This led to me manually correcting the file name to be correct every time I downloaded, and my installation of the "Download File Name Encoding" plugin was also ineffective.

Hello! See the screenshot please: so, I downloaded à pay-bill, with Firefox (under ubuntu), in private navigation, and I get the file with a padlock-symbol at the end. What means that? What means that for me (on my computer), what means that for à friend, when I sent him the pdt-file (can he open it?). Nota: I understood that I can choose between "delete downloads when closing the privat window" or not. And I choosed not to delete them (but there appears this padlock-symbol). Thanks for your help! Hi, I've recently discovered that Firefox replaces the % with underscore while downloading file.

I've read that question: https://support.mozilla.org/fr/questions/1439267 but there is no answer.

Is there a way to prevent that? I use a online tool I've made myself and the % is used as a separator.

What follows describes what I think is an annoying bug, and as I'm writing a draft of the bug report, I thought I'd post it here first to make sure it's understandable, and if possible to get others to confirm the bug.

In Tools - Settings - Files and Applications, with the following settings: - Always ask you where to save files is ON - What should Firefox do with other files? is set to Ask whether to open or save files

If a file type is not defined in the Applications list/grid, Firefox 140.4.0esr displays the Open or Save box (only Save for .exe files) If you click Save, FF opens a save window according —logically— to the path defined in Tools - Settings - Files and Applications - Downloads, so - The list of files shown to the right is correct, - But the path shown in the toolbar above it is wrong (> ComputerName > C:\ > in my case), - And the selected folder in the navigation column to the left is also wrong (ComputerName in my case)

and that always throws me off.

The bug appeared before FF v140.4.0

Test downloads - Go to https://openexr.com/en/latest/test_images/TestImages/AllHalfValues.htm and click the link below the AllHalfValues.exr title - Go to https://www.picsellia.com/post/tiff-tag-image-file-format and right-click on one of the pictures at the top, select Save Image as from the context menu.

Please post a brief message below to confirm or invalidate my finding. Thanks!
