As the title states, certain media elements within Firefox refuse to play with audio, but only with frustrating inconsistency. For example, any videos on Youtube are fine. Any videos on Reddit are fine. But many videos, most commonly on boorus and streaming sites I cannot name here, will not play. The volume on the video slider is all the way up, the Firefox application is not muted, the site is not muted, and the tab is not muted. The only thing that makes those videos play audio is if I left click on them to open them in another tab by themselves. While it solves the issue, it's still an extremely inconvenient way to go about my browsing. I know for a fact that this is a Firefox problem because those same videos on those same sites work perfectly fine within other browsers. Please, does anybody know of a solution to this issue?

For the past few weeks when I click into the URL address bar, I get a popup window covering the entire Firefox window (see screenshot). This is really annoying, as I have to escape out of this to get back to the window. It makes more sense just to place the cursor in the URL. Is there a way to disable this? Or is this a bug? Or is it a problem in my installation? I'm running Firefox 133.0 (64-bit). Thank you.

I met the same issue with https://stackoverflow.com/questions/27514404/web-worker-blocked-by-main-thread-in-chrome . It was asked 10 years ago and I learnt that it was fixed in chrome via https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40398809 . Is it a bug for firefox? Is there any way to work around? Thanks.

The list of previously visited sites in firefox windows seems to have shrunk in some recent update of firefox. Now, when I click the address bar I only get 5 options, the first being search with google and the remaining 4 being previously visited sites. Used to be that list was much longer. Is there a way to customize this, or revert it back to where it contains 10+ items?

During normal use, my Firefox looks... normal. See first attached image. But when I start typing in the address bar, everything but the address bar disappears. See second attached image. Is this behavior intentional? If so, which version introduced this behavior? And how do I disable it?

Yahoo isn't loading at all for me, more specifically guce.yahoo.com. I have managed to get into the login.yahoo.com page and log in but after the log in process it goes to the first page again and gives me the same "The connection has timed out". I just installed the browser and this might make me not use it ngl. I have tried both clearing cookies and troubleshooting mode.

How do I stop it from appearing please? It's the address bar.. field. I don't know what to call it, english is not my native language. I just want it to remain small and static like it always did. Now it becomes a huge field that takes up too much space and blocks my vision and I just want it to disappear.

I wish Firefox would stop changing stuff like this.

This happened too much, like 6 times when using firefox in this month. I dont want to shut the program because I got unsaved notes in it. I was listening to music and it just began to play it non stop. and it dont respond.

I try to restart network or suspend the process nothing works. If I could make firefox reopen to it's original state+ cookies; no site reloaded and get back my incogico it would be much appreaciated.

I am using VPN and have excluded FF using split tunnel, so I enabled Secure DNS in FF with Cloudflare. When I first launch FF, I get a blank page and nothing in the address bar. After that, I can open all webpages just fine. It's only that first page right when launching FF that doesn't work properly.

After Win11 update, Firefox started to just show "Gah. Your tab just crashed." I've uninstalled multiple times from MS Store and also direct from website. No luck. Safe mode works fine. My normal mode does not work even when all the addons, etc are disable. I'm a simple user with no customisations of the FF browser.

Tried new profiles, untick performance, etc.

I've even tried restore win11 update to an earlier date. Same result.

Other browsers work fine but I want to support Mozilla. I'm at the point of switching to another.

With reference to my question just posted, also now when I click on my Firefox browser, the Yahoo search engine seems to take over and it won't let me come out of it. Mark

helo, my text cursor position always at behind of text make it hard to locate. e.g. when i click on "find in settings" box, the cursor locate at behind the "find in settings" words not at the front.

When i log into Instagram, Gmail, or Facebook i get a message that says "this browser no longer supported. Update to newer version" i am running 132.0.2. i have been using Firefox since version 0.7 and still prefer FF to all other browsers.

CLARIFICATION OF MY QUESTION: I checked the way you said and the sidebar.revamp already says false. What I am talking about is as follows: In the windows 10 we had, and using Firefox, there was the complete My Bookmaks list on the left side, from top to bottom. Those not showing I could scroll down through them. It also had a search bar where I could search for a sepcific bookmark. (I have had 2 strokes and I cannot remember things if I can't see it as I do it.) NOW, however, with Windows 11, there is a "tab" I guess you call it on the left end of the ribbon. If I click on that, the My Bookmarks expands down (like it did look before) and I can scroll down if the one I am looking for is below the shown part of the list. HOWever, if I go to type anything outside of that list, it collapses back to the tab. It also does NOT have the search bar for the bookmarks at all. So if I cannot remember where the bookmark is located (I have 95 bookmarks) I have to scroll down through most of them to find it. What I want is for the entire bookmark list to REMAIN visible or on top when I am doing other things. Ialso would like to be able to search for a specific bookmark which would bring it right up.

Since the 132.02 certain eBay items will not display its shipping info. Only on Firefox. Its not addon because I disabled all and I have the same addons installed on edge and all good there, I can see the shipping info on edge. And its only about 50% of the items which is weird. I have done the basic troubleshooting and I have to think it was this update. If you see the images attached Shipping values should be displayed. Some have a $ value some say +shipping, those are not displaying the value. Please help me figure this out as I use Firefox ALL day but if this continues I HAVE to switch. Ebay is my main source of income now.

I have just installed "Opera" browser which I thought would allow me to install an App called "Marine Traffic" onto my computer. It seemed to make changes to my default browser which is Firefox, so I re-installed Firefox. Now when I click on Firefox it comes up with a search bar but it is not the usual search bar but a largely blank screen with just a search bar in the middle. It does come up with an option at the top for another search session and when I click on that it is the normal Firefox browser screen. Can I get rid of this first strange blank screen with search bar? Mark

I have a suggestion, could Alt + left/right arrow switch between tabs that are next to each other? This shortcut is e.g. in PyCharm and I think it would significantly improve my browsing experience. It seems to be currently unassigned.

I have two installations of Firefox. One windows10 and one Linux. BOTH are doing the same thing on this site https://www.rapidonline.com/

I cannot scroll using the mouse roller. Page up/down doesn't work. Middle click and drag doesn't scroll either. BUT, for the briefest of time, BEFORE the Firefox shield in the address bar, I can scroll.

Hovering over the blue shield shows the text... Blocking social media trackers, cross site tracking cookies, and fingerprinters. Turning the Firefox protection OFF makes no difference, other than the shield is white and struck out. Disabling uBlock origin, or malwarebytes makes no difference. Both my installations do the same BUT, I called a pal who also uses Firefox on Linux and windows and he reports all is well and he uses uBlock, but not malwarebytes.

I have not actively messed with my settings on either platform. Oh, I was told to clear the cache. No joy.

Why does Firefox think it is blocking stuff but turning the protection off makes no difference? Why should two separate installations behave identically? Why does my pal's Firefox using Linux work on this site 100% ? I feel like I am going insane...
