I regularly back up my profiles folder (desktop running Windows 10) and observe a steadily-increasing number of files. Where/what are they? If cookies, I really don't want to delete all cookies, but neither am I interested in manually going through the list and deleting individual ones. I realize we're not talking about a major storage space issue (~ half a gigabyte) -- just curious.

after downloading latest Firefox, suddenly seeing a looooooooong list of commands which were not there earlier.(see on the right). all these additions are not described in the changes summary! further, the command "Take screenshot" does not work. the earlier extension for screenshots which i had is also not to be seen. so added moravi screenshot but unable to take any screenshot, full or part.

I'm setting up Firefox on a new computer. I haven't done this for a while and the interface has changed, so I'm not sure how it works.

I want to move my Firefox profile to a directory in the Documents library to simplify backup. Following the Mozilla instructions I found, I opened about:profiles and clicked the Create New Profile button. I deleted the contents of the directory that Create New Profile created and copied the contents of the default profile directory to it. The last step is to tell Firefox to use my new profile instead of its default.

But the about:profile page lists three profiles: default-release, default, and my new one. The first two have a Set as default profile button; the last does not. So it appears that I can tell Firefox to use the default-release profile or the default profile, but there's no way I can tell it to use my new profile. I can only Launch profile in new browser -- presumably something I'll have to do every time I run Firefox.

This makes no sense. How can I tell Firefox to use my new profile -- not to launch a new browser with it, but to use it, period? If I can't, why can't I? Every version of Firefox I've ever installed up to now allowed this.

Also, the default-release profile section of about:profiles has the note "This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted." So it appears that Firefox uses the default-release profile instead of the default profile as its default profile. What is the default-release profile? Why isn't the default profile the default profile?

Hi - I wanted to migrate all my changes made in the flatpak app to the aur version. I noticed the profile content has a different structure in both - aur and flatpak configs. And any attempts to replace profile content with the other resulted in browser ignoring these and initing new config files. Was wondering if my config can be ported over or thats not possible thanks.

When printing history from my bank account there are transactions missing in between pages and extra bank pages. The bank of course says it's the browser. it does it on Edge as well. Please help

how do I keep the profile available when I close Firefox? in trying to transfer Firefox bookmarks from Windows 10 on one computer to Firefox on a new one using Windows 11?

We've used Quikbooks for 10 years + on our desktop. After learning the Desktop QB is no longer supported, we attempted to purchase - access, QB online. This required us to return the desktop version, be credited the purchase amount, as we were prohibited use until this Process completed. Now complete! As Techsoup processes have changed, all the back-forth, just not sure. Prior to QB Icloud purchase- need to confirm we didn't already make purchase & guidance re How to access- use online QB version. I am managing some linux servers in schools.

Actualy a lot of users are working with firefox.

Depending on how the user is working with firefox, the profil may reclaims a lot of disk space.

Is there a tool working like :

firefox_cleaning_tool /path_of_profile /options xxx

with some options like : cache / etc...

For exemple : the tool flushes profiles caches files and user have no action to do to continue using firefox as usual

this kind of tool should run every month (ie with crontab)

Is there a way to do that ?

I can manual flush some folders contents but I am afraid to do mistakes.

I can not get into my Yahoo Email account. When I log in it says, "Something's gone wrong".

I can get into my Email through a different browser on the same computer. This started last 

Wednesday (01-29) or Thursday (01-30). Help.

started receiving this error message while on musify.club. It lets me in, then after a few moments the pop up comes back with same code. after research, it has been deemed that I'm only party affected but I can get in on other devices with no issues from same wifi network. please advise. win 10 pc user. thanks.

Suddenly I cannot access one of my email providers [tutanota.com] because, so its error message says, javascript is not enabled my browser [Firefox is my default browser]. BUT javascript is enabled. [I just checked through taking the steps 1) typing "about:config" in Firefox; 2) clicking "accept risk and proceed"; 3) typing "javaScript" in the select preferences name box; 4) looking at the javascript line for "true" or "false".] Javascript was "true". Help. Please advise.

I got a Firefox update recently and have not been able to access Flickr since then. I am getting a message that the page is not redirecting correctly. I am attaching the error message. I am running with standard firefox protection. I have cleared cache and cookies. I have also added Flickr as an exception to Firefox enhanced privacy tracking. Firefox is up to date (version 134.0.1 (64 bit)). Anyone else having this issue or know the solution?

I am an academic. I use Canvas. When I am in Canvas and I try to open a document in it from Firefox, what I get are solid black pages. I do not have this problem with Canvas in Chrome or in Edge. I really don't want to use those Browsers. I actually have this problem with every PDF I try to open from all sites. This is a recent problem. But if I cannot correct it, I will have to use other Browsers.

Good morning, after today's FF update - right click dropdown menus are terrible! Nothing works for me... Opening new windows, new tabs, adding to bookmarks, copying, pasting, etc... How can I turn it off because I can't use it. I need to have a menu like in version 133.0.3. If I can't change it, I will have to change the browser because I can't use it! I am a heavy Firefox user, and have been using it (and its predecessor) since Netscape. In the last year, the size of my Firefox profile has more than doubled, from 500MB to 1.3GB. What's the probable cause(s), and what can I do about it?
