Hello, I have been experiencing tab crashes while watching MSNOW at 4pm eastern. These have also occurred in troubleshooting mode. I have submitted the error codes and pasted the most recent five here. I also received an error code which to the best of memory stated to possibly reinstall firefox. I used firefox troubleshoot mode to see if the problem is caused by an extension etc. But my tabs were still crashing, this time, firefox as a whole crashed. Sometimes a tab crashes, and sometimes firefox crashes. I tried to troubleshoot with an llm, it said that i don´t have enough RAM, i have 8Gb, but its shared between RAM and VRAM. I was on fedora before, the problem occurred there so i switched to mint with the thought that mint is more lightweight so it should have more RAM available for tabs. But that wasn´t the case. Sometimes i only have 1 tab open, nothing else on firefox and on my laptop open at that time, but the tab still crashes.

I've been using Mozilla Firefox browser for the better part of the last two decades, having always found it to be the most functional and useful over all competitors, who generally seem more interested in raising revenue or spewing puerile and slanted politics. I've been accustomed to the occasional "crashes" and always provided input when they occurred, convinced that the interruptions would be brief and with any issues resolved. Today was different.

Lately, my processor was experiencing some "aging" issues: slowdowns, freezing forcing me to re-start, and random re-starts on its own. Over the weekend I conducted a comprehensive series of diagnostic tests of all features of the operating system. To my relief, the system went back to normal and efficient, including the browser -- for about 2 days.

Early today the browser became slow, eventually inactive, and ultimately crashing 7 times. But all these time were different: my input into the "crash warning box" was not permitted and closing the box only resulted with the next crash. All crashes had the same reason posted on their reports: "Crash Reason EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION."

When the crashes finally ended, my browser looked totally unlike it did before:

(1) ALL of the shortcuts I entered on the home page and relied upon for years VANISHED. (2) ALL of the browser windows and the open tabs I was working through at the time EVAPORATED. (3) ALL extensions I saved and used routinely GONE.

By the end of the day, one spent trying to resurrect "my" Mozilla browser with minimal damage, something else disconcerting occurred: the processor's operating system randomly shut and re-started. I don't want to point fingers just yet and allege this was connected with my browser failing, but the coincidence is troubling, one I would recommend looking into. My assistance is, of course, automatic.

I'm a Professional Web Designer, and I need to make a lot of meeting through Google Meet. I was using Chrome previously. When I try to use my Web Cam, Firefox completely crush my web cam. Means, no other apps can't use the web cam including Meet until I pull the flag out of my PC's USB port.

The only fix is to disable hardware acceleration. But I need that as well. So chating Gemini, I figured out that changing this rule media.windows-media-foundation.allow-d3d11-dxva to false on about:config fixes the issue with having Hardware Acceleration enabled.

It turns out that, according to some reddit uses, Firefox uses API from medieval age for handling DirectX3d.

I love Firefox, and I want it to grow nowadays more than ever by looking at the browser market and what they are doing with Ad Blockers. Please take a look at Firefox's performance for the good.

My System: OS: Windows 11 Pro CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 270k Plus GPU: NVIDIA 5070 TI 16GB No shortage of SSD and Ram. Plenty of them available.

Can Firefox work on that issue, so I don't have to go to workaround like this? I love Firefox and I want it to compete with chromium for good. But having issues like this left us no option but to choose alternative.

My browser started crashing after the latest update, and it still crashes even in Safe Mode. It doesn’t close immediately upon opening; instead, it shuts down suddenly after about one minute or longer. This issue never occurred before and only started appearing after the recent update. My system is Windows 11, with the following detailed information: Edition: Windows 11 Pro Version: 23H2 Install date: September 17, 2023 OS build: 22631.5624 Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1106.0

Ever since latest update (153.0 (64 bits) everything crash. I can open Firefox, but as soon as I enter a website, regardless of what it is, it won't load.

If i try to close the app, there's always a process that keeps running. It can't close. And if I try to force it it says that access is refused.

After that I keep receiving these errors that Firefox is already open and I need to close the last process of Firefox to continue but even if I say to close, it keeps repeating until my PC finally crash.

Everything was working 100% until Firefox updated itself. No Windows update nothing.

I can't even send crash report since it does the same error.

for years now I have had this issue when browsing. It is so annoying. I have tried all the suggested troubleshooting. I deleted all extensions. This helped for a while, but not for long. Now it's so tedious to browse that I am thinking of getting rid of Firefox. It has just become unusable and no one can seem to fix it. I am using Windows 10 and no extensions. It often happens when I first open a page and while the page is being pulled up.

about every 15 to 20 minutes I hear a tone from the speaker and then Firefox crashes, on some occasions another msg box briefly appears saying something about Microsoft windows but then it disappears before it can be read fully.

Firefox keeps shutting down and it will open up when I tap on the icon. I have to reload it to make it work, It seems like I have to do this everytime I shut the pc.
