I'm running Firefox 71.0 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Professional (1803), and have enabled Strict Enhanced Tracking Protection.
Yet, no matter what website I visit, the shield icon remains grey, i.e., it never turns purple. The details that I see when clicking the icon confirm that Enhanced Tracking Protection is On for this site, but that No trackers known to Firefox were detected on this page.
But, duckduckgo Privacy Essentials readily identifies trackers that it has blocked, e.g., googletagmanager.com.
So, I thought that perhaps DDG Privacy Essentials was interfering with Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection, so I removed that extension.
Still Enhanced Tracking Protections says that it cannot identify any known trackers, regardless of what site I visit. That can't be accurate. Even at Yahoo.com, it says that no trackers are known to Firefox.
What could be going wrong here?
Thanks!

Hello,
I am running Firefox 67.0.4. No video streaming services work with the browser. Each one gives me some sort of error message:
Netflix - Unexpected Error, F7111 HBO - Can't play video, please try again later Amazon Prime - Unsupported Browser
This has been occurring for almost two years now, during which time I have been using Chrome (yuck) to stream video.
I have a VPN installed on my computer (for work) but I am not connected to it, and these problems have been occurring since before I installed the VPN.
I am running the latest version of Flash and Widevine. I have Netflix set to play DRM content in my preferences (I have tried unchecking and checking that box and restarting Firefox). I am running uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and HTTPS Everywhere, but disabling any or all of the add-ons does not solve the issue.
I am going to try refreshing the program but am open to any suggestions before I do so.

LastPass was installed and running until Firefox automatically upgraded to ver. 71 and now it's been disabled. Even though LastPass is a "recommended" extension, when I try to re-install from Mozilla I get the message "an unexpected error occurred during installation" (see attached file). I have Firefox set to automatically download updates, but to only install them with my permission. The problem is that Firefox Quantum has a feature that displays a little green icon in the top-right corner of the window indicating that an update is available, and frequently brings up notifications prompting me to update. Most of the time, I can't just drop what I'm doing and restart Firefox, so these notifications are nothing but an annoyance.
Is there a way to disable both the notifications and the little green icon while keeping the "update but don't install" option enabled? I assume that how frequently the notification is displayed is controlled by the app.update.promptWaitTime preference, but that's the only relevant entry I found in about:config. I'm willing to disable this through my userChrome.css if necessary. If I can't find a way to disable these, I'll probably disable searching for updates completely.

When a web interface offers image upload options, Firefox 70.0.1 on Windows 10 does not offer up any regular jpg or jpeg file extensions. All I get by default is that weird jfif format, together with png. What's that all about, and how can I fix it?
Image uploads work fine if I choose to display "all files", but something's amiss with the filtering there.
On a related note, Firefox used to save regular jpg images in its own Save Image As dialogue as jfif files too. I had to teach it to do this in jpg instead. Might be a related issue?

Whenever I restart my computer (occurs at least once a day), I need to login to my Firefox account. This allows my bookmarks and saved logins to populate.
Whenever I login, I receive an email stating "New sign-in to Firefox" even though I am always logging in from the same device. Under my profile's list of devices, it lists the one device several times.
Is this intended behaviour, or is there a way for Firefox to at least recognize that my current device is the same as the one I logged into before?
