Ever since your last two upgrades to Firefox, I am unable to get to many of my regular sites that are quite legitimate such as PBS, and others. I get blocked from the page with the following message: "Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for (name of site). The certificate is only valid for *.t.en25.com. Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN. The error messages also says that these errors have been reported to help Mozilla identify and block malicious sites." I need to know how to turn this off or at least please send a new update correcting this error. In the meantime I'll be using the Opera Browser which does not have these problems

Shift+Delete no longer works to remove these erroneous results. I've never heard of, used, visited, or wanted to visit "http://nycsubway.org/" or anything related to it, but now firefox's "awesome" bar sends me there instead of Netflix, which I use daily. I've turned off all the random suggestions for the address bar but these random, wrong, ads keep popping up. If I've never used it, and I'm not searching for it, putting it there must mean "http://nycsubway.org/" has paid you to be an annoyance in or lives. Or why else would you do this?!

Firefox is beginning to become more of an annoyance than it is worth - most of the reason for this is the continual string of updates, messages, click bars and pop ups it shows on start up.
No these are not spam or bad add ins, they are programmed interruptions inherent to FF.
Users of FF want to get on and do things. Having to close windows with news about the latest update (and there are soooo many updates), or news that the opml feed is now on your desktop (another thing to waste time attending to) or messages about privacy or messages about syncing pages and settings or pop up messages about how FF is private etc are just plain annoying.
It is getting to the point where I expect to wait longer for FF to start and then have to wade through cruft, than it takes to boot the entire Windows 10 OS and deal with the Ms cruft on the log in screens.
If people want to learn, then they will look stuff up. So seriously - stop popping up tabs, notices, messages, dialog boxes and other cruft. Let the users just get on with using FF rather than putting up with cruft about using FF.
FF is now officially slower to start than every other browser we have and slower than me booting an entire windows 10 pc - all because of continuous updates which don't seem to do anything for me - or most users. oh sure, you can say its for security but if you are patching security holes as regularly as you are updating FF then there is something terribly wrong in your programming standards and coding methodologies - not to mention test process.
Its a trend to tell people about your product - but its one that annoys users. We just want to get on with using whatever - so please get out of our way and let us just use the product.
I like FF - but I liker it a lot less than I used to as its now annoying the crud out of me almost every day.
My 10c worth.

Drag and drop will not work in Firefox but works in all other browsers I have installed. Tried in safe mode but it still won't work. This is getting ridiculous now as there are so many things that you can't now do in Firefox that it's becoming useless ... you HAVE to give users some room to set their own restrictions otherwise the paranoia will turn the browser into a worthless piece of junk
bookmark tool bar disappeared
Even though check mark appears next to bookmark toolbar the toolbar does not appear. I tried safe mode with no results.

After the last couple of updates, Firefox now gets stuck when I try to watch a video withing an article on the nytimes.com web site; I just get a little arrow going around in an endless circle. In the past, videos would play o.k.
So in order to view a video, I must copy and paste the link into a Chrome browser, where the video plays immediately.
When I asked the NYTimes web support tech about it, he replied, "Certain browsers have issues supporting the NYT. We recommend using Google Chrome to view the NYT content if possible."
Why does Chrome play videos perfectly and Firefox not at all on this important site?
I have no problems with Firefox playing videos at other sites.
Here's an example page. No show with Firefox, o.k. with Chrome.

This may seem like a dumb question, but here goes: If a person has hacked firefox browser, will that let them see one's browsing history? Websites, email questions? i have changed my firefox password, and I'm pretty good at changing other often-used passwords, and good at creating difficult nonsensical passwords. But I have had my email hacked etc. like many people in the world.

What settings can I use in options that will cut down on tihs? Because today, I saw two more spoof emails (using my email) It was not from my email -- it was missing information -- but still annoying). thanks, ginahere

And to add insult to injury, it appears where "Open Link in New Window" used to be. I don't use tabbed browsing. Period. I like to hover over the taskbar and let Windows tell me that browser window's URL.
If it can't be suppressed -- because each Firefox user doesn't really know _their_ own preferences -- why not place the "Container Tabs" right-click entry, below "Open Link in New Private Window"? Then users desiring to use such *new* functionality, will learn (muscle-memory don'cha know) it as they go.
Every time y'all force me after an update to figure out how to resume using Firefox in the matter to which I'm accustomed, I move one step closer to shifting to Chrome entirely. (I still use Firefox to access YouTube, because up until several days ago, I was able to download content with a Firefox add-on.)
BTW. I tried to upload a screenshot of the image. The progress icon has been turning for minutes ... It might work on Chrome, but the image upload functionality is broken with version 63.0.1 (x64).
Your "Pocket" ... your "Bookshelf" icon ... etc. ... I wish y'all would let me suppress the display the meg@Kewl new stuff, which I never use.

On nbcsports.com domain, most pages have a comment section. There is no login to the website itself, but you can comment on the articles by signing in via several options- Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Facebook,.... etc. The site facilitates the sign in when you click "Post" or "Thump up, Thump down" by prompting to "sign in with.." and only shows the first 2 choices and a "show more" button, when you click "Show more", it is supposed to drop down the rest of the login choices, but it doesn't. In Firefox the whole applet just freezes. I tried all trouble shooting options, including complete uninstall and reinstall, safe mode, disabling firewall, and every Firefox t/s option I came across , but the issue persists. BTW, it works fine in Opera, Edge, and IE11.

This has been an ongoing problem that started, first with update 63.0, and continues with update 63.0.1.
I have tried multiple fix suggestions, including the very disappointing "refresh Firefox" option. While that did nothing to cure the problem, it did wipe out every saved password. That, to be blunt, really ticked me off. It says this fix solution will keep our saved information, with no mention of erasing passwords.
Second, I changed the Network Settings as directed, from Use system proxy settings to auto-detect proxy settings for this network. I have been cautioned NOT to use the no proxy option, because it has a chance of rendering some websites unavailable. Not interested in messing up my browsing experience any worse than these recent Firefox updates have accomplished by themselves.
All these problems aside, my biggest disappointment is in the total lack of communication from Mozilla. While I value the Firefox ideology and the mission to provide a more private internet browsing experience, all this is worthless to me if my pages load at something akin to dial-up speeds.
At this juncture I have no choice but to use Google Chrome until someone can provide me with a workable solution, a solution that doesn't send me back to square one with all my saved Firefox information. If that is the only remedy, I might as well switch my default browser now and begin to re-acclimate myself to the changes.
Thanks.

Firefox hangs when I open a new tab or new webpage. It's really annoying!
Everytime I do the automatic updates this shit happens. I used to go to one of the articles where it gave me instructions on how to reset my preferences, but that thread has since been modified, it now says to delete my pref.js, but that doesn't fix the issue anymore.
So i'm resorting to actually making a god damn account and asking why this shit keeps happening. I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed aswell, but it saved some of my data which I kinda need (bookmarks). That doesn't help.
I know that resetting my preferences back to default every update used to fix it, but I forget how now. Thanks...
Can someone just tell me how to fix it so I can update without having to do all this shit again.
I have only one extension and that is adblockerplus. Not likely the cause as it does this aswell without.

The last two updated have killed the functionality of the address/search bar. It's now supposed to be an "awesome bar" but it's quite the opposite. Instead of my normal bookmarks, like "https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions" when I start typing youtube I get "youtube.com." I have tried the shift+delete to remove this suggestion but I guess the update doesn't let us do that anymore. I really want to be able to have the bar work like it used to, autofilling your most used favorite, not random garbage.

Hi: I am trying to decide do I just totally give up on Firefox after all these years and move to Chrome or is there some logical path for addons planned/in process that I do not know about.
It is like Firefox Management Team/Committee team made this technical decision with little understanding on the impact to the developers that had put in hard yards for years, or users who had been using these addons. I am at a loss when I try to understand why would they jeopardise so much.
Since Firefox went to that "new firefox", sorry I dont know the technical lingo, most of the addons I use became unavailable. I have since written to each developer to ask, will they be upgrading their addon and the answer is NO. So basically Firefox is only useful to me if
- I stay in the old version on Mac Sierra OSX (55.0.3).
- For the new windows 10 brand new laptop I tried also to create using the new Firefox and it was very unsuccessful as there are no addons even close to what I was using.
For the Cookies controller there are some close but nothing as good as this addon in terms of how I used it -- manually removed cookies.
On my Mac Firefox 55.0.3, I have the following addons (all these have the LEGACY yellow highlight tag in the list)
1 Cookie Controller
2 Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar
3 Session Manager
4 New Add On Bar
5 Add Bookmarks Here
6 Change Bookmark Recent Folder List Length
7 Open Bookmarks in New Tab
8 Download Status Bar
9 AutoPin Tab
10 Close Tab Button
11 Tab Open/Close Control
12 and uBlock Origin I cannot update as it says on its webpage, with this technical change, it is not supported, so not upgrade it.
Any practical advice?
