I got a new Acer laptop with windows 11 (64bit). I downloaded FF but when I open it, it just gives a blank page. If I type in an address nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling but nothing seems to work

I recently purchased a dell refurbished computer, I set it up went and downloaded fire fox without any trouble. I restarted computer today and it would not accept password I called DiscountcomputerDepot.com help and they helped me to restart and they told me they would have to reinstall windows from computer. So I lost all my programs. when it restarted said would have to update windows. Hi,Why is download showing up on nearly all sites I go to & HOW do I get rid of it permantently I can close it by hitting the X beside the Download,but it Should not be there Thanks Darryl

This is a very bizarre problem. Basically I can't install any Firefox addon neither on my desktop OR may laptop. I noticed this issue just couple of days ago. When I try to install any addon normally, from a link, it tells me that the addon can't be installed because the file is corrupt. Tried several addons, all same problem. On my desktop AND on my laptop. On my desktop I'm running ver. 103, but on my laptop I still had ver. 102.1, so there is no Firefox update issue. When I try to install addon from xpi file, it tells me that I have no permission to open that file and that's it. I tried to take ownership of that file but it didn't solve the issue I tried to disable my AV program, but it didn't do anything. On my laptop, I tried to refresh FF, no help. I tried to start FF in safe mode, same problem. I created new profile, same issue. Eventually, I totally uninstalled FF, removing program itself, removing Appdata folder and even registry entry. Installed fresh copy of FF, same problem exists. Then, I noticed one thing. When I tried to sync fresh FF installation on my laptop, it synced everything, EXCEPT for addons. So, something is preventing me doing anything regarding addons. Themes install just fine. I've struggling with this problem since yesterday and at this point I totally ran out of any fresh ideas how to solve this issue, thus posting here. I'll appreciate any fresh idea as what to do next. I try to install Firefox on a HP Z1 G8 desktop under Windows 11 Pro. The first time I get a warning that a .dll is not available or so (I dont know what this warning is precisely, becaus it pops up for 2 seconds only ) , and firefox is not well installed, reinstalling goes without warning, but still Firefox starts and then stay dead, no sites, no settings. I know the security in this computer is very thight, but other apps install without problem and functions.

Why Firefox cant be installed where other apps can ??????

Firefox wasn't working well on a seldom-used laptop, and the update to 100.0.1 didn't go quite right, so I deleted the old version and (using the odious Edge) tried downloading a fresh copy of the software.

But then I get a message from "7-ZIP" that reads "Can not create temp folder archive"

I'm stuck. Advice?

In the past, FF downloaded documents without opening them in the browser. This is two weeks now that whenever I download a document, FF is now opening the document in the browser without asking me.

I welcome if someone could tell me what I can do to stop FF from opening the documents.

Hi New Dell Inspiron 15-3000, installed Firefox 100 in new laptop, transfered all files via LAN from old laptop All websites work ok except 2 of the 4 banking websites I use. One site will not accept my login the other will open after putting in my login twice Have gone to "troubleshoot mode" and both sites work , go back to "normal" and they do not work Any clues how to fix this, not to technical please I am not a computer whizz and all children have left home Many thanks Ron Managh

Firefox was lagging everywhere: scrolling, switching folders in bookmarks, switching windows, switching tabs, opening settings, scrolling in settings...just everywhere. So I tried downgrading to v. 113. After downgrading via the ling in settings it still showed v. 114. I uninstalled firefox entirely and downloaded the loader for v 112. I installed it and it went thru whole install process to the point of asking to close and start Firefox. It didn't start. When I clicked on the icon it gave me a prompt that it didn't point to anything and asked if I wanted to delete it. I looked in program files folder but didn't find a folder for Firefox or Mozilla. I installed the developer edition and it worked but I don't want dark dev ed. Please help!

is it possible to make this opened site/s bar smaller,less wilde ,see my screenshot, this one by : nieuw tabblad like using fonts in about:config. the internet bar i find ok.

Trying to retire the Google surveillance tool, Chrome, by using Firefox. Ugh, if y'all want to encourage this someone should really look at how this is done!

I got bookmarks moved and prefs setup. Importing extensions is really nice--thanks FF devs--but a feature of Chrome I use every day is the set of icons on the new tab/home page/startup page. It is super easy to customize on Chrome but I can find no way to do so in Firefox. These icons have no label on the page and are right under the search bar--see image.

I have spent most of the morning following unhelpful links about android or mentioning menu options that do not exist. I am using FF 119 on macOS.

Suddenly FF starts but shows only a new tab without any content. I can fill in a URL but no reaction. Settings doesn't open. Close tab through X Restart FF. no new tab but message: FF is already running but is not responding. The old FF process must be closed to open in a new window. Click to close. a new empty tab pops up without starting FF manually. Close through X Restart brings the same message as above - no window. Have to end FF in Task Manager.

Uninstalled and reinstalled three times - no change.

I'm using Windows 10 and Avast One, Firewall checked - is open for FF.

I kept getting new version is available while I was up to date. This could be due to this:

When I had Firefox in its standard location in C drive, I also installed another copy on my computer's E drive. After a while I uninstalled the E drive version and kept the C drive one.

After that I kept getting a new version is available, but could not be downloaded. I follow the links and find out I do have the latest version. When there is a new version out, in Settings - General - Check for updates I always get the message Firefox is up to date.

I uninstalled Firefox completely, but kept my profile directory contents. After re-installation, I copied contents of my old profile into the new installation default profile.

However, I still get the 'New version is available, but couldn't be downloaded'. The problem is still there.

Somewhere in the files in my profile directory there is still a trace of the E drive installation and the update checking looks at that (I guess ? ) Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, I have some issue on the new updates on Version 101.0.1 (64 bit) Firefox auto-download all my files even when I am in view mode. Is there a way to disable this feature?
