It's quite ridiculous. Who gives a flying turd if someone donated $1000 6 YEARS ago to Prop 8. What does that have to do with Mozilla? It just shows how immature and intolerant people really are. He wasn't discriminating against employees, firing employees, "hating" anyone. Get over yourselves.

I've been using Chrome on my GF's laptop for awhile now, might as well switch.

Yes it was quite ridiculous that so many outside individuals attacked Brendan rather harshly for a donation from six years ago...

Would it really have hurt you to ask for facts on what happened with Brendan Eich before assuming the worst happened instead?

The Mozilla board and employees including LGBT ones (apart for a small number of Mozilla employes) showed nothing but support to Brendan by supporting him for who he is in his promotion from CTO to CEO.

They already knew about his 2008 donation for a couple years at least as it is public record though it ended up being the main thing that triggered all this unfair onslaught towards Brendan and then mainly Mozilla. This was not found out after he became CEO as some mistakenly believed.

Unfortunately some media outlets will rather publish sensationalized stories generating many clicks and increased revenue by ads than perform the most basic fact-checking or even posting the truth.

In fact Brendan refused to step down (as refuses to quit link from day before leaving shows) due to the pressure from outside campaigning to get him to resign as CEO. However it just got so bad in increasing attacks that he felt he could no longer be an effective leader with people constantly attacking him. He decided to leave as his way of helping Mozilla however this then triggered attacks more towards Mozilla due to the misconceptions made by individuals and article writers thinking he was fired or forced out.

He wrote of the support he got when he became CEO.

I would like to think that since he was not fired or forced out he could go back to Mozilla if he wanted to when this dies down. Mozilla encouraged him to stay in some capacity when he chose to leave.

As of 4/14/14 Chris Beard joined the Mozilla Corporation Board of Directors and as the interim CEO. https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/04/14/mozilla-moving-forward

This donation is the scapegoat of the case, the things and facts are not so simple in all enterprises who financed by giant corporations and global interests.
