Can not type in the tab section. Green icon not there...empty box???
I used to be able to have many tabs going - I was able to type in the tab the site I wanted to go to. Now the tab has an empty box that is dotted. Nothing will type in the tab. Please help. Thanks.

Try to open a new window to see if that gives a working location bar. If this works then close the not working window.
You can also try to rename (or delete) the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder to reset the tabs in the current Firefox window.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

I've tried opening the new window...but nothing changes. The tab bar still has the empty, dotted little square in the left corner of the tab itself. I think it used to be a little green icon. The rest of what you suggested is way over my head. Thanks anyway.
