Save Firefox setting after windows crashes

My C:\ drive is the System Recovery partition. My D:\drive is my windows partition... I messed up on a HDD cloning... Windows will not start up and I believe a fresh install is in order, however I do not recall the last time I backup-ed up my saved passwords/bookmarks. If I connect my HDD to a different computer, is there a file from firefox I can copy over to have all my saved passwords and bookmarks? Or do you need to back it up while its running?

You can copy your entire personal settings folder (known as your Firefox profile folder) from the disk.

Make sure you can view hidden files and folders: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../show-hidden-files

Then drill down to:

drive:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Typically you find one profile folder there and that's what you need to copy. If you find multiple folders, you might just need the most recent, or why not grab them all, just in case.

If there are no files there, navigate up a level and look inside profiles.ini for path information.

Can you find your data? The bookmarkbackups folder(s) are the most critical, so make sure you find those.
