How do I get my bookmarks sidebar back, its quicker than using the button and opening all the extensions
My bookmarks sidebar has disappeared and I cannot find any way if reinstating this. How do I re-instate this?

On a Mac, it's not [Control + B], trying different options, I found that it is however [Command + B] to open the Bookmarks sidebar that allows you to resort and rename bookmarks.
Hope that helps someone!

Hi vonnella, Press "alt+v" and select side bars... Followed by bookmarks
alt+v --> sidebar --> bookmarks See in the picture for better understanding
{Ctrl + B} opens and closes the Bookmarks Sidebar.
You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks (star) and the history (clock) in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.
There are two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu (you may not see the drop marker in the Customize window).
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.
I tried this but I don't appeaer to have a toolbar to drag it to as it is already on the toolbar I have. I have managed to open it with one of the other solutions and both of the other suggestions work. thank you.
Note that there are two bookmarks buttons with a star.
One star button opens the bookmarks menu with a drop-down list (this one has a drop marker) and the other star button that will toggle the bookmarks sidebar.

You can use "View > Sidebar" or drag the toolbar button to open the Bookmarks Sidebar from the toolbar palette to the Navigation Toolbar for easier access (View > Toolbars > Customize).
Cmd-B used to bring the hierarchically organized bookmarks to the left side bar, as Cmd-Shift-H brings [still] the history [Cmd-Shift-B brings up a full page of the bookmarks]. _Some_thing has happened, but I can't recall any catastrophy or fiddle that might have been responsible.
Sorry, but I don't see any such buttons in the customize toolbars pallet. Or, for that matter, the button to stop loading a web page (the letter x) or to refresh it (a counterclockwise curved arrow). Where have all these useful buttons gone in FF29?
Thanks, Terry
You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.
- Classic Theme Restorer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
- You can check the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
- You can find extra toolbar buttons in the Customize palette (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)
