I do not have any tool bars on my firefox.

They disappeared a little bit at a time to nothing.

Why did it happen?

How do I fix it?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

  • Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
  • Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

I held down the F10 button and nothing happened. I held down the alt key and nothing happened. Unfortunately, with great hesitation, I clicked on "Restore" & all the additions that I've added since I uninstalled FF and re-installed FF, disappeared. I recognize that my circumstances are not exactly that of what I'm dealing with but I had toolbar buttons for my various bill-pays, and many other "quick access" needs and they've worked for years. Unfortunately, it's been long enough that I don't recall exactly how I made all of those. It's only when I need one of those, that it dawns on me that it's not t here. I used custom-toolbar buttons for some very special ones but he's in special program until September so I won't ask for help. What I've been able to make is greatly inferior-one bank's bill-pay is a star but before, it was the bank's icon and just one word next to the icon that made it stand out and be undeniable in what it meant. That's what I need-what I'm working toward but I've had other issues to deal with that have kept me busy. Tonight, after being out for 2 hrs. returned to find that all icons had disappeared on my cell phone. I read today that there's a major solar flare and satellite issues would not be surprising-that may be lore, but I've never had anything like that happen on my phone until tonight. There were no changes on my PC but now, I'm faced with re-building my toolbar buttons as now there are none are none AGAIN! I really NEED HELP getting back to normal. Oh, prior to uninstalling, I had changed name on profile hoping that I'd be able to return & use it. Since I'm well past that, I'm certain I checked but found nothing of value-can't quite recall. All I know is that I had full list of toolbar buttons and now, actually, now twice, I have none at all. This is just too much stress. I've been an avid Firefox user but something needs to change because when this happens, it's as though my language left me and I desperately miss it.
