does a lot of downloads slow down efficiency on pc?
I have saved a number of downloads I never use...........would my pc run better if I were to disable them?

Do you mean that you installed extensions?
In that case you can uninstall those unused extensions.
Files that you download and save on your computer do not have any effect on the performance.
