when I try to import bookmarks from XP,I get a message that Firefox has stopped working. I am not very computer-literate so I really don't know what to do
I am installing Firefox on my desktop. When I try to import my bookmarks from windows XP Internet Explorer 7 I get a message that say Firefox is no longer working. I have limited computer experience so I really don't know how to approach this problem. I tried the help page suggestions, i.e, restart with add-ons disabled with no success. Please help a senior citizen! I used Foxfire successfully on another machine. Thanks Jim

If you have problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
That way you also preserve any sorting that you may have done in IE with the Favorites.
- Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
- Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

Thanks a lot for you quick reply. Your information worked perfectly and was very understandable for a non-computer savy type. Jim
