Try this:

View > Toolbars

and UNCHECK the AOL toolbar there.

Ok, now I've gone too far! When I went to view again I somehow deleted the toolbar that has view, undo, etc, too!!!! Now what

You probably get a Firefox icon instead. Press ALT on your keyboard and it'll show the toolbar, CHECK the Menu Bar and it should be back.
