Firefox locks up on s.imwx.com and s.ytimg.com. It locks up so completely that I have to cold reboot the PC!

It happens when I go to certain web pages.

At the bottom of the browser window it is waiting for s.imwx.com, or in other cases s.ytimg.com. Maybe others as well.

It locks up so completely that I have to cold reboot the PC! It can't be closed with the Task Manager.

I had a similar problem with IE, so I switched to Mozilla.

There is no "crash ID", it just spins forever and never recovers.

Is it "s.ANYTHING.com" ? What is this stuff?

That are probably domains used by Yahoo! to host images or scripts.

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
