I'm using the latest version but it won't let me install Adblock Plus because it thinks I'm using Firefox 2.0. Youtube also thinks I'm using an old version.
I've tried updating Firefox several times, and I just completely uninstalled it, then installed it again.

Check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page.
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website.
Filter: general.useragent
If any general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then right-click that pref and choose Reset.
