After completely clearing out my history, cache, and cookies, a single website remains when I drop-down the location bar. If I mouse over it and hit delete, it will disappear until I re-click the drop-down arrow and it shows up again. It doesn't appear when I set the location bar to only show bookmarks in the options menu, but it is there when I set it to show only history. Also, if I click the url, I am unable to bookmark that particular site either by clicking the star or by using the Bookmarks menu (not sure if this is related). Thank you for any help.

places.sqlite could have been corrupted.

Since it sounds like you already cleared out everything, try locating and renaming/deleting places.sqlite in your profile folder.
