Got it! Sorry you experience this. It's a bug that's being looked into. We believe that regular Settings (Settings > Home and startup > toggles under Firefox Home) should work as expected, though. Could you please confirm if that's the case for you? (If stories already appear as disabled there, re-enable them and then disable again)

Hi,
Could you please clarify what you mean by the "box"? If you have disabled everything in the Customize menu, you should only see the search bar...
Adding a screenshot may help.
Thanks for responding-- by "box" I mean there is a window/box under my search bar that was filled with stories, ie, science ,history, etc. and I do not want them on my start page. When I went to customize I could slide the button but there was no apply or way to know it would take. I had to individually delete/block each to get them to go away. I want my start page to be blank other than the search bar. Hope this makes sense......kind of a plain dinosaur.

Under Settings >Home , the toggles are off. On my start page at the customize icon at bott rt, I can toggle those off and they come back on when I revisit the page. Very frustrating, all I want is to have my start page like it used to be. I don't know why they have to dick things up when I didn't allow an update. Thanks
Please turn the toggles to ON, and then back to OFF.
AWESOME!!! Thank you so much, probably not a big deal for most people but I like things the way they are until I decide to change them. Thanks again
I have the same problem and switching the toggles on and off worked. Thank you! One reason I love using Firefox is that the homepage is clean and uncluttered. Appreciate you!
