Hello, Here are some known solutions : 1. Check Task Manager: Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and end any firefox.exe processes before reinstalling. 2. Disable Add-ons: In Firefox, go to about:addons (Ctrl+Shift+A) and disable extensions, especially toolbars, then restart to see if the issue stops. 3. Run as Administrator: Try running Firefox as an administrator to see if permissions are the issue.

If the solutions above don't work, you can try this : Clean Reinstallation : 1. Download Firefox: Get the latest installer from www.mozilla.org. 2. Uninstall Firefox: Use your computer's Add/Remove Programs. 3. Delete Profile Folder: Go to %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox in your file explorer and delete the Firefox folder (this contains your settings). Create a copy if you want to save it and move to another folder. 4. Install: Run the downloaded installer and directly open Firefox afterward.

More Troubleshooting :

  • Check Background Updates: Ensure Firefox's internal updater isn't stuck; re-installing usually fixes this.
  • System Cleanup: Use Disk Cleanup (Admin) or similar tools to clear Windows Update files.
  • Look for Malware: Run a scan with your antivirus, as malware can interfere with applications.

I really appreciate your giving me all this info. Today, Firefox was still there when i turned on the computer, so will wait to see if the problem reoccurs before trying any of your fixes.
