Please be assured that Firefox will always remain a browser built around user control. That includes AI with increased user controls being made available in the first quarter of 2026. Choice matters and demonstrating our commitment to choice is how we build and maintain trust.

Can you explain what "increased user controls" means? Are you saying that we are starting with no control over the AI with plans to get some control later? I would prefer to not have any AI running on my browser.

It is already possible to turn off the AI based features in Firefox through the settings screen, but these controls are going to be improved and made easier very early in the new year.

Improved user controls to disable AI in Firefox settings is planned for a future version of Firefox.

As for leaving feedback or suggestions for improvement, the people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or developers. When a Mozilla employee responds, you'll see the Mozilla staff label next to their name.
