When I try to embed an image in an email as soon as I click on "insert" and "image" the message freezes. All I can do is to access the task manager to close Thunderbird altogether and then start again - but the same problem occurs when I try again. I had to fall back on sending the image as an attachment. Now that I come to think of it this has been a problem for some considerable time. NB as you can see from the sequence this crash occurs before I have been able to select the image - so it has nothing to do with the size or format of the image.
