Can't sync tabs to my new phone

I've recently upgraded from an a34 to an a56, both phones running the same build of Firefox, both signed into my account however the old phone can see the tabs of my laptop and the new phone, the new phone can't see anything. I'd like to be able to port the tabs over ideally. Also of note is the tab view is totally different between the two phones in layout too. I'm at a loss as to how I can painlessly move over the tabs.
