I click on Firefox Icon, the icon explodes out then nothing happens. I have also tried clicking on it while pressing the option key so I can go into troubleshoot mode and get the same result. I have not found anything so far that addresses this particular situation.

I was already logged into my firefox account with my iPad. The bookmarks from my computer were synced to the cloud. I am pretty sure, however, that my last session was not synced, that is, I am pretty sure that all the windows I had open on my computer were not synced to the cloud.

What do you suggest to get Firefox going again? Ideally, I would like to bring back the sites I had open on the computer the last time I used Firefox on it. Possible?

thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin, as a Windows person, my guess would be that the Firefox window is off-screen, for example, on a second desktop. Or perhaps Firefox is crashing and closing right away. But I don't know whether there is a way to confirm. I assume you are not getting the Firefox menu bar? Does the dock icon have an option to open a new window?

Firefox is crashing right away...one sees the icon expanding as if it was going to open, and then...nothing. The Firefox window is not off screen. On both a Mac and windows, you can cycle through all open apps. There is no sign of Firefox being open. I am not getting the Firefox menu bar. The dock option has neither a way to open in a new window, nor can I go into troubleshoot option from the dock (by pressing option at the same time as clicking on the icon).

Thanks for responding but I think I need help with someone who knows macs and can tell me what internal files and folders need to be deleted or modified to bring my Firefox back to life. I can probably reinstall and start over and not lose my bookmarks, but ideally I would like to restart with differently configured folders and get the windows back that I had on my desk top.

thanks again

Kevin

You can test whether it is possible to use the "external" profile manager to start Firefox in a new profile: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles - the "Start the Profile Manager when Firefox is closed" section.
