Don't give up on us yet. I think there is a solution that involves a bit of mildly technical work. Try this and let us know if it worked:
To set the width of the vertical scroll bar in Firefox, open the configuration editor by typing "about:config" in the address bar. Note: You will have to click the "Accept the Risk and Continue" button, which is safe as this is only accessing a local setting. Next, search for "widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.style" and set this to 4 to apply Windows 10 scrollbar styles, which will be thicker and more visible." See screen shot below of what it looks like on my computer.
You may notice some text is covered on the right side of the window when maximized, if so, reply and let me know.
