I have noticed recently that when i try to play certain videos i am sent that are embedded on webpages the screen just goes black and i cannot see anything but i can still hear the video playing in the background. Why is this happening. I have a new HP envy laptop and am using firefox browser but when i use my work laptop which does not have firefox (IBM Thinkpad) i do not face this issue therefore i assume it is a setting in firefox

Hello,

Does this happen in apps other than Firefox, when Firefox is closed?

the only internet browser app i have on my laptop is firefox but when i use my work computer which has a different browser i dont have this problem

I see, please try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. Does the problem persist?

Could you also please give some URLs of the websites you experience troubles with?

I have tried this and i think that the troubleshoot mode has helped. How do i then understand what was causing it or do i always need to log in using trouble shoot mode I am trying to access some work training web pages that have embedded videos but they dont have a website url that i can share with you

That's great that the problem goes away in Troubleshoot Mode! Then the most likely cause is an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. For further troubleshooting tips, please see Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

this is a url that caused the screen to go black before i reached the end of it https://nextdoor.co.uk/p/CKXsJJw3W2Wg?post=17592237866498&utm_source=email§ion=post_0&mar=true&ct=i-EFlZ96RQWoJS-0U_loBjA7iJ7TXa-VT73r5GCwe7InIc96xC8xpDI-oDWSxH44&ec=OWKiQRDj9vEHAYwTV6YMARldwuFdgGkeefhwfGYAE0s%3D&mobile_deeplink_data=eyJhY3Rpb24iOiAidmlld19wb3N0IiwgInBvc3QiOiAxNzU5MjIzNzg2NjQ5OH0%3D&link_source_user_id=17592199282723

Unfortunately, this site requires logging in to access the content (and signing up requires entering the address, so...) Anyway, I hope that the article above helps.
