When on laptop, I want to synchronize account to desktop. I try to log on but need to get authorization code. The code takes an unreasonable amount of time to arrive, to my phone sms or email. Please allow me to use a different way of logging in so that I don't have time to forget what I'm doing... signed grumpy old man Cheers, George

Hello,

Are you getting automatically logged out of your Mozilla account? Generally, that's not something intended to happen.

I am trying to prepare a new ssd to replace the smaller existing ssd in my computer. In doing so, in a bid to help, I have tried to log on to Firefox whilst in the 'live' instance of Linux Mint on a usb stick... and also in the newly installed Firefox on the new ssd. On each occasion, two factor authentication has said it would sent a msg or email to me.... that message either doesn't arrive or it is so long that I'm not even near the computer. This has happened a number of times due to the new installation failing.

Thank you for explaining, I have two more questions:

  • You said, that happened a number of times. Have the corresponding emails/SMS finally arrived (not considering time)?
  • Are you able to log in with any other device (e.g., your smartphone or tablet)?

Yes, I'm logged on with my phone, and my desktop when I have reverted to the original ssd. Don't worry about it... its a rare event to me and not mission critical. Thank you anyway.
