First happened trying to place an order from Home Depot
When I try to sign in with username and password, Firefox is demanding that I "restore facial recognition" or fingerprint. But I am using a desktop PC. With neither a camera nor touchpad. Before asking for the above, I was instructed to insert some kind of key into my computer. I 'm stumped. Is there something I can turn off? Or on? to avoid these steps I can't take? Thanks y'all.

Was it a passkey? This is a new thing you can use on some sites, but as far as I know, nearly all sites still work with a normal username and password. So try to remove the passkey wherever you started setting it up. This could be in Windows settings.
Hi jscher2000 - It popped up in a box, and I copied the text: "Windows Security Making sure it's you Please sign in to www.homedepot.com. This request comes from Firefox, published by Mozilla Corporation. (then there was a key icon that looks like a flashdrive) Insert your security key into the USB port." the box had the "X" in the top right corner, but this would not close the box - I had to click on "cancel" at the bottom of the box. THEN I got the message to "restore facial recog or fingerprint" - I just found it very weird, noting both Windows and Firefox. I had no issues logging in to Lowe's with username and password, so perhaps I need to switch loyalties. Thanks for the feedback, in any case. Maybe I'll establish a new ID at HD, just to see if the same thing happens...
