As of a few weeks ago I no longer get tab history by a long press on the back arrow. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you.

I just tested it on my Android 15 device (not a fan of current Android OS) and it works using the browser back button and not the Android button. Which back button are you using? My Android 10 device, holding both the Android and browser back button works, not on Android 15 device.
