bold textPasswords and Sign In

Hi,

I had some hardware problems on my old PC and for some reason most likely to do with accounts when I restarted on Win 11 on new PC I had lost the majority of passwords saved to the Browser Password manager.

I have lost my old email address and am having some issues working out whether for some reason on the old system I was using my old email address to log in.

Is there any workaround to trying to determine whether I have a seperate account possibly linked to old mobile or email account that may link to the Password manager that contains my old PC systems password link.

I am setting up a more secure way to save passwords also? Is it better to use a portable hard drive rather than something cloud based for passwords?

I am a senior and at times do make some elementary mistakes with digital literacy so sympathetic answers would be greatly appreciated.

Richie

Unfortunately if you can't recall or reset your login there's nothing anyone here can do since it's just user help. And no one has access to your account.

Do you still have the hard drive from the old device and is it still healthy enough to connect it via USB as in that case you might be able to retrieve relevant files from this hard drive ? For the logins you need a matching logins.json (encrypted logins) and key4.db (encryption key)

Connecting to Sync is only possible if you have access to the primary email address.

You can install the About Sync extension to check what data is stored on the Sync server via the about:sync page provided by this extension.

Close and restart Firefox to access the about:sync page added by this extension (see the about:about page for possible about pages).
