Give Freely App

A non-profit I support suggested the "Give Freely" app. The extensions search in Firefox did not find the app. Is it known and trusted by Mozilla? It's privacy policy suggests it functions like most other apps: it collects all the data it can, and allows the third parties that support their functions to collect all the data they can. The third parties can do whatever they like with my data.

Thank you,

David Guth

Based on what you said about the Give Freely extension and what this extension does with your private information and third-parties.

If the author(s) of the Give Freely extension were to want to host it at addons.mozilla.org/ they would need to strictly follow the Add-on policies Mozilla has about extensions and your private information data or it would likely be denied or later blocked from addons.mozilla.org and blocked in use in Firefox.

Firefox browser has nothing to do with Addon issue or finding that Addon software they should tell you how to and where to find it.

Dear MarkWarner22,

Thank you for your answer, but it's not an answer to my question.

My question: Has Mozilla evaluated the add on "Give Freely" for security and privacy?

Thank you,

David Guth

Where is the info at then? Addon devs can remove their app if they choose to do so as well. So you should ask the NP that told you to use it where to find it.

Dear MarkWarner22,

I apologize for my complete lack of understanding of your replies. They seem to be nonsequitors.

I can see a list of add-ons by selecting the hamburger icon, then choosing "add-ons and themes" from the drop-down list that appears. The add-on recommended by an non-profit I'd like to support is "Give Freely". It's not on the list. The two similar apps listed both include a warning: "This add-on is not actively monitored for security by Mozilla. Make sure you trust it before installing."

I know from where the app can be downloaded. The problem is that I don't like their privacy policy. It seems to say that they hire third parties to provide (unnamed) functions, and those third parties can do whatever they want with the data that passes through their hands.

My question: Has Mozilla evaluated the add-on "Give Freely" for security and privacy?

Also, again please forgive my ignorance, what's an NP?

Please forgive me for testing your patience. Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,

David Guth
