Just updated to Firefox 115.3.0 ESR, and for some reason the > and + buttons have dissapeared from my tab toolbar

I just updated to 115.3.0 ESR and I noticed the > and + buttons have vanished from my tab toolbar. They are only visible if i go into "customize toolbar" but i cannot find a way to make them permanently visible. Please explain how to make the > and + buttons visible again. I have tons of tabs that extend to the right of the screenshot but there is still no > and + buttons visible. Please see the attached screenshot. Edit : okay you know the small firefox icon to the left of the "<" ? i tried removing it from the toolbar and now theres a >, but still no +...
