Hi Mozilla, I subscribe to the videopass on motogp.com. I recently went on to renew my subscription but couldn't proceed because of the following message. "Sorry, we are unable to proceed with your purchase as we have detected that the billing address does not match your location" My profile location is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", but my billing location is "United Kingdom". They are apparently two different locations according to the website. I must add, these locations are from a dropdown menu so I cannot change them. I emailed motogp and their tech people reckon either my browser (Firefox) or my internet provider (Sky) could be having a conflict with the payment platform. What do you think? Personally, I think It's the website's problem but any advice would be helpful. This is the first time I have tried to renew, usually I just let it auto-renew. Regards,

Steve.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose, make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website, data for that website will be saved once again.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I already have, with the same results.

No VPN or proxy. As far as I know I'm only blocking adverts. I'll check the addons and geolocator though. Thanks for the advice.

Sounds like you can mark this as resolved since it's not a Firefox issue.

The addons are ok but the geolocator had me in a different postcode. I changed that and it moved further away, but I managed to get it back to the correct postcode. Unfortunately the problem still remains. I shall try what cor-el said and see if any of that makes a difference. It seems I'm not the only one with this problem. I found a thread online and it's been a problem for some since 2021. The popular opinion is it's the website and they are pretty slack when it comes to tech. If all else fails I can always let it auto-renew as I usually do. Thanks for all the replies guys, much appreciated.
