No. I can't provide a screenshot. The messages are like pop-ups. They flash on and off very quickly.

Do these seem to be ads from the sites you are visiting, or unrelated messages?

The messages are unrelated. A few have been graphically sexual, some are announcing that I have a virus and need to use their antiviral software. I removed all of my extensions. It has become too frustrating. The interruptions are just too frequent. I am now playing with Safari.

It's possible you have an app running at start up that is otherwise useless except for corrupting the integrity of your system.

It's possible that the browser has been hijacked. There is a little app called "Hijack This" and will list it. So if you use it, dont go crazy and delete everything on the list because some of the things are helpers and not malware.

Further, its possible to find the malware app running by using the Task Manager. Then you can track it down to the folder its stored in, and delete the file and or its folder.

If it doesnt stand out as being an odd file in task manager, just keep task manager open and wait for the malware to engage. It would briefly go to the top of the performance list.

lastly, the other browsers will not be immune to such attacks. So you may decide to uninstall FF. But then the others will be corrupted too.  :-)

You could consider using the uBlock Origin extension to block unwanted ads and see whether that improves the situation:

You can do a malware scan just to be sure.
