Missing ALL Firefox Data

I cannot seem to retrieve any of my Firefox data. My bookmarks, plugins, login and password data are just gone. Years of data are gone. There is no "old profile data" and oddly enough none of the profiles have anything in them anyways. I have tried everything suggested and NOTHING has worked. Most people have no clue about the files and folders and definitely shouldn't be moving stuff around as most of the threads have suggested. What is a key3 or 4 file? Why should I have to move it? Where does one move it to? None of the threads on this topic are helpful and there's no way to just ask a person who works here? Considering this seems to happen to a lot of people it should be made much easier to do. I can't even import my old logins from Safari. Is years of my data just gone? If Im signed into my Firefox account shouldn't it be there, or what is the point of having one? I need a very easy solution to this extremely frustrating issue.

Sorry to hear about the trouble that you are experiencing.

Can you tell me what happened before this data loss occurred and what steps have you tried so far to recover your data? Do you have backups of your computer that you would be able to restore to?

If you had a Firefox account and have been syncing to the account with your account data. You should be able to follow this guide How do I set up Sync on my computer? Once the setup is complete, the browser should sync and restore the information stored on the account.

Hello! I was working in iMovie, Garageband, and Photoshop. Firefox crashed and when I reopened it everything was gone. I followed the directions of looking for restoring the backups. Firefox showed that I had backups from Feb. 28th, 23rd, and a bunch of other Feb. dates and it wouldn't restore. I tried the start Firefox with plugins disabled and then the "refresh" Firefox thing and my bookmarks came back, but nothing else. That's how I know everything was synced. When I looked in the "old firefox data" folder everything was brand new like from a new profile. I tried making different profiles in the "about:profiles" section and switching files. That didn't work because Firefox keeps creating new profiles for me, so I have no idea where my actual old data that was synced went. I had to import my bookmarks an insane amount of times until they finally stuck, too. I have a bunch of passwords in my keychain and iCloud and tried importing those, and that isn't working. Today I also called Apple care to see if they could with finding the backup files, but they couldn't either.

I also have to login into my Firefox account every time I open it, which was never needed before. Im afraid of doing a new sync right now because I don't want to lose years worth of data if I haven't already. There has to be an easier way to find this data and import it back into my account from Firefox's end because this is beyond confusing and extremely frustrating. I haven't been able to work going on 2 days now.

Thanks for the very little help. Im switching to Chrome. Every time I open Firefox I have to sign in and all of my highlighted websites are gone. I gave up on the passwords because I don't have the time to waste another 2 days of work trying to get them back. I've used firefox for years and never have had this many issues with it and I definitely never had to wait this long for help.

I understand that this is frustrating but we are only volunteers on the site, contributing to help solve issues whenever we can.

The issue with Sync is outside my area of knowledge. If you still wish to continue and try to troubleshoot this issue. I can escalate the issue and bring in someone more experienced with it to assist you.
