There is a pref on the about:config page that controls this, but it defaults to false and thus shouldn't be a problem.

• extensions.webextensions.keepStorageOnUninstall = false

It is possible that the extension links to other types of storage and stores its data elsewhere and restore it automatically (its description on the Addo-ons page seems to confirm this). So you will have to clear that secondary storage. You can contact the Kee developers for support if you can't figure this out via the FAQ/docs.

I checked about:config and it was already set to false. I re-installed the plugin to look at the secondary storage issue and for some reason the issue I was having had disappeared, even though I'd already tried uninstalling multiple times before.
