In Firefox 79.0 running under Windows 8.1 I see the URL of a link when I mouse over it. I have seen several complaints about this as well as workarounds to get rid of it. However, I find it very useful as I like to know what I am clicking on before I do so. Unfortunately, this URL preview does not appear in Firefox 79.0 running under Ubuntu Studio 18.04. I have not knowingly overridden this feature, nor can I find a userChrome.css file on the system. How can I get it back in Firefox running under Ubuntu?

P.S. I have to take this back: It seems that the URL preview is popping up on the lower left for some links, but not all. Is this something that web authors can override? Is there a legitimate reason for suppressing this? Should I simply avoid clicking on anything which doesn't show a URL preview?
