I am using Firefox 77. I thought I had the URL bar fixed, but I can not find the setting any more to turn off this expanding behavior. I have tried to make files and copy "userchrome" codes from the internet, and apparently I am not qualified to do that. I really dislike this new "feature" that jumps out at me for no apparent reason and serves no apparent purpose.

userChrome.css code that was used in Firefox 75 & 76 don't work in Firefox 77 + versions. A temporary preference that was available with 75 & 76 is now gone / removed. You need to use the Firefox 77 + version of the code.

I can't provide that code as I am learning to live with the changes made to the Location Bar / URL Bar. I do use userChrome.css to 'fix' other areas of the UI towards my style of using Firefox.
