I am using Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS. Chrome Version 80.0.3987.149 (Official Build) (64-bit) Firefox 74.0 (64-bit)

I follow the process described https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/import-data-another-browser.

The problem is that the system does not recognise that Chrome is installed on the computer ( see attached photo). So the process does not complete.

I saw around on the internet for solution but nothing proposed.

Any idea what can it be? I wonder, how/where Firefox is looking to identify other browsers.

I had to finally export bookmarks and passwords in chrome then import first the bookmarks.

about passwords, I had to visit each page and log in so that firefox stores the passwords.

thanks anyway.

What kind of data do you want to import ?

For bookmarks you can possibly export the bookmarks in Google Chrome to an HTML file and import this file in Firefox.

  • Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup
