Both Firefox and Chromium-based browsers are laggy on Linux but not on Windows on same computer. How would I solve this problem?

Both Firefox and Chromium-based browsers are laggy (but in different ways) on Linux but not on Windows on the same computer. I have done GPU and CPU benchmark tests on my PC and they seem to perform better on Linux than on Windows.

I have tried different distros and I seem to be having the same issues. Both of these browsers have hardware acceleration enabled. I have tried booting into the LTS kernel as well, still the same issue persists. I have tried different DEs and I have even used Wayland instead of X11 and there doesn't seem to be a difference. I have an Intel Integrated HD graphcs card and my Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 2 in 1.

How is Firefox Laggy?

Is this with loading pages or with browsing on a loading page or about the responsiveness of Firefox or something else ?

Are you using Firefox from the Mozilla server or from the repositories on Linux as the latter might behave differently ?

Its with Web applications for example with YouTube it does seem laggy, but on Windows using Firefox is smoother. It was pre-installed on my distro.

I have tried Firefox on different distros and it seems similar. Chromium also has laggy issues (but in different ways). I am not too sure why they are laggy on Linux, what do they have in common?

I have done GPU and CPU tests and they both did better on LInux compared to Windows so I am not too sure why are the browsers not being optimised properly?
