Congratulations with ruining my ad ons for the fourth time in a row. This time you disabled all of them and make running my business impossible. I tried the fix you suggested by running the "studies". Nothing happened. You indicated the problem was with version 66. I have it happening with version 69.01. I would like to know which version of Firefox was the last version that doesn't constantly ask me to update Firefox, and send me to that download site. I plan to stay with that version forever because: 1) you guys can't seem to leave my ad ons alone, and you won't give me the option to update Firefox when I want to without constantly being reminded to update, and you won't provide the option to turn the reminder off. I'm swearing at the top of my lungs right now for the fourth time. You guys work hard at improving everyone else's experience in areas I care nothing about, But for us who spend hours reviewing ad ons to make our lives easier and for ad on you approved, you screw with us instead for some unknown reason. I really wish some of you experts would start up another Browser and allow us to impart chosen ad ons as a default part of the browser that programmers can't mess with. It's but a dream.

Hi cvmenn, I'm sorry to hear you were inconvenienced, but as far as I know, there's nothing in Firefox 69.0.1 designed to mass-disable extensions. This seems to happen to some users without a good explanation.

Did you lose any other data? Can you tell whether your Firefox created a new profile?

In another thread, a user opened the extensions.json file -- a registry of your installed extensions stored in your currently active profile folder -- and discovered that the un-enable-able extensions are marked with "appDisabled":true which you would normally only expect to see if there was some kind of serious problem with an extension. I think he is going to try manually editing the file to see whether it brings the extensions back to life without having to reinstall them. You could keep an eye on that discussion:

You can try to purge the startup caches by starting Firefox once with the -purgecaches command line switch and possibly delete compatibility.ini in the main Firefox profile folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

No, another profiles folder was not created.

By altering the extensions.json file by converting 44 "appsdisabled":true, responses to false, an closing and reopening Firefox, nothing changed. And when visting my add-ons page, I did find that most of the disabled add-on, (my most important) would further allow you to remove them only. Some less important add-ons did, however, permit you to enable.

I also removed the compatibility.ini file. And nothing!

I did NOT attempt any syntax changes, for I know not what I am doing.

I would have thought someone figured this bizarre problem by now.

I want to retreat back to the last version with instructions how not to screw things up, and I want to permanently turn off the update reminder. My life can't handle the stress of continuously losing some or all of my highly valuable add-ons.

Hopefully, you can assist with this grave dilemma. Thank you!
