WHY, can't I get a straight answer to my questions, All I get is Community support.

I have tried over a dozen times to change my (according to you) PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS. My primary (according to mozilla) is [REDACTED BY MODERATOR]. I would like to tell whoever answers this, THEY ARE WRONG. The previous email is just an "ADD-ON". To my mind, MY PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS IS:- [REDACTED BY MODERATOR]. I do not know where you got the gmail address from, it is very rare I use it, except in answering your non-existant, technicians. WHY? Do you only use volunteers to get people like me sorted out???? What is wrong with employing people that have been trained to sort out this type of problem. When ever I click on "CONTACT US", all there is, is a list similar to that which led to that page? There are NO LINKS that take me where I want to go, not where YOU want me to go. I am 71 next month, and I NEED SPECIFIC instructions as to what I have to do. I have had a computer eversince the AMIGA 500. So I do need help to sort out what I want, NOT, as you keep saying, I must have what YOU want. If you cannot sort this out, I will be going elsewhere. I have used firefox for bloody decades. This could be ending anytime soon. I am totally fed-up with your website, beloaw are three pictures to explain what I need.

This is indeed the official Mozilla support forum. As Firefox is a free product, Mozilla doesn't have the financial means to maintain a professional helpdesk, but I'd like to think that you will get better support here than from a professional helpdesk, as people here are motivated : they're not here for the money, but because they want to help others.

I've read and re-read your post numerous times, and don't quite understand what's going on here; I will therefore forward this to a SUMO Manager (SUMO = Support Mozilla).

But : not only are we dealing with different time zones; it's weekend and Mozilla employees may not read this outside office hours - you may have to wait a while longer to get a proper answer, for which I apologize.

I'm Kiki, the community manager in SUMO. It seems that you've been experiencing a significant issue with your Firefox Account. However, it's very difficult for us to help you without a clear description of the issue. And please note, that this is a public forum, so it's very dangerous to post any personal information publicly. If you want to make comparison for different email addresses, you can use dummy illustration for example just say email A and email B.

Also, I would suggest to start fresh by posting a new question with a clear description of your problem.

yeah I just want to ask a question about breaches,,,, how did I get a alert on breaches that occurred way before I made my email address...I keep getting directed to questions that have nothing to do with my question ,,why is this,,,then you tell me I'm a contributor to SUMA how ,why,, and why won't you answer my question about the so'called breaches that alleged to occur before my email was valid ,,,just answer that please

What I want to know is WHY WE the punters, have to rely on helpers (volunteers) to answer our questions. I have used firefox for more years than I care to remember (about 25 plus), and I have yet to hear from a FIREFOX **EMPLOYEE**. WHY IS THIS?????.

You say that I have to use my primary email address, well I have news for the powers that be at mozilla downs, the one you call my primary, is not that which I call my primary, in fact it was the THIRD email account that I set up, years ago. **MY** primary as far as I am concerned is the first one I set up, which is, ORIGINAL, and FIRST email address that I have ever used. The WORD **PRIMARY** means FIRST, not what someone else tells me what MY primary is?????????????????????????????

Other users who volunteer their time to help Firefox users have provided almost all the answers since this forum was started 12 years ago (in late 2007) and from 2002 until this forum opened Mozilla didn't provide any support. at all. Open source software companies like Mozilla and projects like Firefox just don't have the financial resources to provide paid employees for support functions.

Call it what you want, but until about 3 years ago when Firefox Accounts came into being - when you changed your email address for Sync you had to create a new Sync account. There was no way to change to using a different email address. With the Firefox Accounts system a feature was added to allow for a secondary email address, along with the ability to switch the "secondary email address" to being the "primary email address" for Firefox Account purposes.

And if my guess about your issue being related to a Sync account / Firefox Account is wrong - well that's just tough! Kiki told you 2 months ago that without a clear description of the issue that is difficult to help you. Kiki happens to be one of the paid Mozilla employees who answered you, and you disappear for a couple of months and then return and pull your crazy old man garbage again!

BTW, Happy Birthday last month! I happened to celebrate my 70th birthday in October, too. I hope I don't get as cranky and rude before I hit 71 ....

The email address you used to create your Firefox Account is the "Primary" email address on your Firefox Account.

To change the "Primary" email address on your Firefox Account to a different one:

  • add an additional address to the account, which will be called a "Secondary" address
  • verify the new "Secondary" address
  • then switch your "Primary" and "Secondary" address

The steps are in this article: Change primary email address on Mozilla account

If the steps in the article do not work as described, let us know at which step it fails.

Possibly someone else had your email address and let it go before you got it?? Otherwise, it's difficult to think of why it would have been on anyone's list of email addresses.
