That is not a command line, but merely about filing fields in the dialog to create a new bookmark (bladwijzwer). Right-click on the Bookmarks Toolbar and click "New Bookmark ...". In the dialog that opens you can type the name of the bookmark in the 'Naam' field if you remember the Dutch name. In the location (Locatie) field you can paste the above posted text:

  • place:folder=BOOKMARKS_MENU&folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS&folder=TOOLBAR&queryType=1&sort=12&maxResults=10&excludeQueries=1

You can adjust the maxResults=10 parameter if you want to see more results: maxResults=30

This is a special bookmark that invokes a place query and shows the results in a drop-down list like a folder. You need to close and restart Firefox to make this query work as a smart folder and give it a special icon.

Hi ppr, You will have to create a new Bookmark.

Open your Bookmarks Library (I use Ctrl+Shift+B) Select Bookmarks Toolbar in the left Pane Select Organize -> New Bookmark In the Name field enter Most Visited In the Location field enter place:sort=8&redirectsMode=2&maxResults=10 (where max results is the number of most recently visited sites - you can modify this) Select Add Close the Bookmarks Library Restart Firefox

Hello again ppr, I am collaborating with a colleague about your post. I may have misunderstood the meaning of 'recently created bookmarks' 'tab'.

The instructions which I posted earlier would recover the 'Most Visited' button on your toolbar.

Is this what you were looking for?

You can create a new smart bookmark query.

Name: Recently Bookmarked Location: place:folder=BOOKMARKS_MENU&folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS&folder=TOOLBAR&queryType=1&sort=12&maxResults=10&excludeQueries=1

Close and restart Firefox to make the folder work as a smart folder.

Hello ppr,

Unless I'm misconstruing your post : you accidentally deleted "recently bookmarked' and want to recover them ..... (?)

If so : would you please try this :

Go to the Library (Ctrl + Shift + B) and click on "Import and Backup"
(top left) => Restore

Any luck ?

@ McCoy: I have about 1700 bookmarks and since my mishap happend about 2 weeks ago I would lose quite some important recent bookmarks if I use the restore option. Otherwis you discribe my problem well.

@Cor-el: Thanks for your info but that command line is a bit to technical for me. I would not know where to start.

@My_Cheese_Is_Slippin': I need the Recent Bookmarks tab/button, like the Recent Labels tab that still is there. I tried your option but that did not work for Recent Bookmarks.

Otherwise an other problem I encouter is that there no more bookmarks being added to my bookmark-list at all after I make a new one. And on top of that I can not find the option anymore to make a back-up file for all my bookmarks as there used to be. Sad, because I dare not to uninstall my Firefox quantum 69.0, reinstall it and use my bookmarks back-up to put them all back.

Yeah! done. And have extended the list to 25 results which is very nice as well + it was a help that you tranlated terms back in Dutch. Great service.
