Hello bobbiee,

Your system details show that you have "McAfee® WebAdvisor " installed; would you please disable it (or better yet : remove it) ?

I am asking because of this thread : https://community.mcafee.com/t5/Consumer-General-Discussions/Firewall-quot-off-quot-message-in-Firefox/td-p/619596

You're best off with just using Windows built-in Defender and maybe let malwarebytes run a scan once a month.

If I remove MacAfee WebAdviser does that remove my entire MacAfee Anti Virus & Internet protection? I just renewed it & paid for it. Are you telling me their program is no good?

All I can say is that we get so many reports here about problems, caused by software like MacAfee - I posted the links to those articles for a reason ..... You could save yourself some money in the future - and possibly a lot of problems.

But it is of course up to you; I would totally understand if you don't want to uninstall MacAfee at this point, when you have just renewed and paid for it.

For now you could just "live with" that message at startup, and/or you could contact MacAfee about it.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
