Hi gameon, are you restoring a lot of tabs?

By default, Firefox only restores the content of the active tab in each window and this is fairly quick. The other tabs' content loads when you access them. However, if Firefox is set to set to restore the contents of all tabs immediately, it definitely will consume a lot of resources and may cause problems. Do you think that might be turned on? Here's how to check:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste demand and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

Hi jscher 2000

yes those are a lot of tabs (almost 2500 tabs) and this is the first time I had this problem with a lot of opens tabs and thanks for your information on this issue for the Firefox .

and this option in your reply above which is in the about:config page is turned on in the Cliqz web browser but I haven’t check in Forefox. so double click on it to disable it .

trying here to use the sessionstore.jsonlz4 file with a web-browser Called "Cliqz" but it has the same issue as with Firefox

is there any way to find out which tab’s is caused the script to prevents both web-browser’s to loading up all tabs ?

and also I had to clearing everything in Firefox and I’ve start a new browsing session and now I have only (83 tabs) and the script popup windows isn’t appear this time so it look like the main problem is one of open tab ?

I think if a particular tab is stuck in an infinite loop, Firefox will pause the script and display a message, but with 2500 tabs, I don't know how you would find it.

By the way, you may have seen me mention it in another thread, but I have a page that extracts your session file to a page of clickable links for each tab. Honestly I don't know whether it can handle that many tabs!!

I’ve just to edit my reply just of now

yes you’ve mentioned this on my other topic here in the Firefox forum and I will give it another try right now and I’ll let you know when I done . and what caused to the tabs to be stuck in the infinite loop ?

Usually a tab goes into an infinite loop due to a problem with a script, but there can be many reasons for a script to have a problem, so I don't know what would be going wrong in any particular tab. Sometimes stopping the tab and reloading it from the server (instead of cache) will work better.
