Great to hear. Question: Do you want to not save history?

Follow these instructions, please:

1: [v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.

When done, copy and post the results here.

2: Let's create a backup of the bookmarks. Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer/profile. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Thanks for that. 3 out of the last 4 had already been submitted and I have just submitted the remaining one.

The fourth one was an old one which had nothing to do with this problem.

Do you have Firefox clear history or anything else?

more options

I don't understand your question. Yes, I use Firefox clear history if that is what you are asking.

more options

That could be causing the problem.

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.

Is the problem still there?

more options

Thank you very much for that. I have made those changes then I closed Firefox and it closed cleanly. I will try it again a few more times during today to see whether the problem has gone permanently.

more options

Haven't had the problem again since so I will assume it's all fixed now.

Thank you once again.
